1969 — Agbekoya peasant revolt (Mushin/Agege flank). Western State cocoa-belt rebellion reaches Lagos suburbs as Egba and Ijebu farmers march on Western State office on Ikorodu Road; Mobile Police shoot at Agege market 16 Sep 1969 (≥7 dead). Tafawa Balewa Square sit-in 18 Sep forces Awolowo's Federal Finance MinistryÄ to cut the flat-rate tax from £3 to £1.10s and pulp the *Ogboni* warrant-chief Tax Records.
1971 — Lagos Dock-workers Strike. 14,000 Apapa and Tin Can Island stevedores out for six weeks against the Nigerian Ports Authority's casualisation drive; Gowon decrees them an "essential service" 8 Jun 1971.
18 Feb 1977 — Kalakuta Republic raid. ≈1,000 soldiers of the Abalti Barracks (after Fela's "Zombie" LP and a confrontation at the FESTAC '77 perimeter) burn the Kalakuta commune at 14A Agege Motor Road; Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti is thrown from a first-floor window (dies of injuries 13 Apr 1978), Fela's compound and master tapes are destroyed. The Justice Akinkugbe Tribunal's "unknown soldier" finding becomes the most quoted phrase in Nigerian impunity. *Pattern: state retaliation against dissent.*
