March 1962 — Tiv Riots solidarity in Lagos. Tiv migrant labourers at Apapa docks and Iddo motor park stage sympathy marches as the UMBC uprising in Tiv Division is crushed by Police Mobile Force; Lagos arrests run into the hundreds.
27 May – 27 Jun 1964 — Joint Action Committee General Strike. TUCN, NTUC and ULCN merge into the JAC; Lagos brings out 800,000 workers (port, rail, post, civil service, NEPA) for 13 days demanding the Morgan Wages Commission award. Balewa's government concedes the Morgan Award the day the strike ends — the largest single labour mobilisation in Nigerian history to date and the proximate cause of the December 1964 federal-election crisis.Election Crisis Pattern Economic Shock Cycle
Oct 1965 – Jan 1966 — Operation Wetie spillover. The Western Region "Wild Wild West" arson and machete violence reaches Mushin, Agege, Ikorodu and Epe; AG/UPGA loyalists burn NNDP cars and houses, 153 deaths recorded in Lagos Province by the Coroner's inquest.
