The record
Michael Aondoakaa (b. 1962) of Benue State was appointed AGF by Yar'Adua in 2007. His tenure was dominated by efforts to repatriate Halliburton and Siemens bribery proceeds — and by accusations he frustrated the same investigations abroad.
He was central to the constitutional crisis surrounding Yar'Adua's medical absence in Saudi Arabia from November 2009. His insistence that the President remained in full control prolonged the vacuum that ended only with the National Assembly's Doctrine of Necessity resolution of 9 February 2010.
Acting President Goodluck Jonathan demoted him to Minister of Special Duties in March 2010, and he was dropped from the cabinet at the next reshuffle.
