The record
Abubakar Malami, born 17 April 1967 in Birnin Kebbi, was the substantive AGF and Minister of Justice for the entire eight years of the Buhari administration.
His tenure spanned the El-Zakzaky/IMN proscription (2019), the SARS dissolution and the Lekki tollgate panel (2020), and the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021.
He was lead respondent in the UK High Court's £6.6 million civil-recovery action over the Bayelsa-derived assets of former Governor James Ibori's associates (2021). He has remained a contested figure in post-Buhari accountability discourse.
