Fellow Nigerians: I am profoundly grateful to Almighty God for sparing our lives to witness this day. I thank Nigerians for the confidence and trust they have reposed in me by re-electing me for a second term.
When I took the oath of office on the 29th of May 2015, I made three solemn promises to Nigerians: to secure the country, to revive the economy, and to fight corruption. These remain the three cardinal pillars of this administration. Under the Next Level agenda we will deepen them and ensure that the gains of the last four years are consolidated and not reversed.
We shall lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty over the next ten years. We shall continue to invest in road, rail, power and digital infrastructure. We shall protect the integrity of the naira and reward honest enterprise.
I remain committed to the welfare and security of all Nigerians, irrespective of region, religion or tribe. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
