Sunday Ehindero took over from Tafa Balogun in January 2005 in the aftermath of the EFCC investigation. He led the Nigeria Police Force through the controversial 2007 general elections — the polls that brought Umaru Musa Yar'Adua to office and which Yar'Adua himself described as flawed.
