Sir Kitoyi Ajasa (1866–1937), born in Sierra Leone of Nigerian Egba parents, was an English-trained barrister who set up practice in Lagos in 1893. Editor of the Nigerian Pioneer (founded 1914). Knighted KBE in 1929 — the first Nigerian to receive a British knighthood of that class.
