Dana Air, founded in 2008 as part of the Dana Group (an Indian-Nigerian industrial conglomerate), is recorded principally for the 3 June 2012 crash of Flight 992 (MD-83, Abuja–Lagos) into a residential building at Iju-Ishaga, Lagos, killing 153 on board and at least 10 on the ground. The crash triggered the temporary withdrawal of Dana's AOC and the most significant NCAA airworthiness reform of the Jonathan era. Dana resumed operations and remained a scheduled operator until the 2024 final loss of AOC.
