Mrs. Kemi Adeosun

Resigned over the NYSC exemption-certificate controversy.

The record

Kemi Adeosun, a UK-trained chartered accountant born 9 March 1967 in London, served as Commissioner for Finance in Ogun State (2011–2015) under Governor Ibikunle Amosun before her federal appointment.

As Finance Minister she led Nigeria's exit from the 2016 recession via the Economic Recovery & Growth Plan (ERGP), expanded the Treasury Single Account, and negotiated the $5.5bn Eurobond issuance of November 2017.

On 14 September 2018, she resigned after a Premium Times investigation revealed her National Youth Service Corps exemption certificate, purportedly signed by a former Director-General, was a forgery. She has remained in the UK since.
