The record
Jibril Aminu (b. 25 August 1939, Song, Adamawa) was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri and Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission before his ministerial appointment.
He oversaw the nationwide implementation of the 6-3-3-4 system of education (six years primary, three junior secondary, three senior secondary, four tertiary), which remained Nigeria's basic structure until the 9-3-4 transition under UBE in 2004.
