Overview#

Osun's resource base is gold + granite + cocoa + textile-dyeing pigment (the Osogbo indigo tradition). The state's gold belt — Iperindo, Ilesa, Igun-Ijesha — is one of the longest continuously-worked gold provinces in West Africa (continuous artisanal extraction since c. 1900); it underpinned Wesley De Souza Segun Mining (defunct) and a brief 1970s MNCs gold programme. Cocoa, kola and tobacco round out the agricultural footprint.

Initial mine life 5–7 years from open pit; underground extension under feasibility. - Multiple artisanal miners — Igun-Ijesa, Iperindo periphery. - Smallholder cocoa + kola.
