- Aro slave-procurement raids on Mbano, Mbaise, Ihitte and Etiti (1690s–1900) — Abam and Ohafia mercenaries, contracted by Aro factor-houses, raid Owerri-province villages to feed Bonny, Calabar and Opobo slave markets.
