Fellow Nigerians: on this 65th anniversary of our independence, I bring you greetings on behalf of the Federal Republic. The Renewed Hope agenda we placed before you in 2023 is, two years on, no longer a promise but a programme being delivered.
Inflation has begun its measured retreat. Reserves are at their highest level since 2019. The Tax Reform Acts of 2025 have raised the personal-income threshold and zero-rated essential goods, putting more money in the pockets of ordinary Nigerians. The compressed federal civil service is leaner, the appropriation more honest, and our development banks better capitalised.
On security, our gallant Armed Forces have degraded the operational capacity of terror groups across the North-West and the Middle Belt; communal peace pacts are taking hold where guns once spoke first.
Nigeria's youth — the most enterprising on the African continent — are the centrepiece of the next phase. We will continue to invest in your education, your health, your jobs and your dignity.
We have come a long way since 1960. We have further yet to go. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
