Results released 5 August 2026 at a press briefing in Lagos by Head of WAEC Nigeria National Office Dr Amos Dangut. 1,950,726 candidates sat the examination between 24 April and 19 June 2026. 1,200,514 candidates (61.54%) obtained credits in at least five subjects including English Language and Mathematics; 86.50% obtained five credits irrespective of English and Mathematics. 94.05% of results were fully processed and released, with 5.95% still undergoing processing. Marking was done by 102,708 examiners at 88 venues between 2 and 20 July 2026. No overall best candidate has been adjudicated for this diet — WAEC presents its International Excellence Awards for a given year at the following year's Annual Council Meeting, so the 2026 winners are not expected before March 2027.
