Press-reported — nine A1s from a community school, WASSCE 2026 (not WAEC-adjudicated)

The record · educational context

A clean sweep of A1s across all nine subjects in the 2026 WASSCE, including English Language, General Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. What drew national attention was the school: a state-run community comprehensive secondary school in Uyo, not a fee-paying private college — the category of school that dominates the rest of this page. Akwa Ibom has now produced top WASSCE performers in 2022, 2023 and 2026.
