Lost ABN/Suspense Account Balances

Pre-Abacha CBN transitional accounting; multiple subsequent CBN reports note suspense-account balances that remained unreconciled.

CBN Annual Reports for 1993–95 reference suspense-account balances inherited from the Interim National Government period that remained unreconciled. The Pius Okigbo Panel (1994) on the management of windfall oil receipts in the Babangida years identified $12.4bn of unreconciled receipts.
