Why it is on record
The 10 December 2005 crash of Flight 1145 (Abuja–Port Harcourt, DC-9, 108 dead — including 60 students of Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja) is the most documented single-aircraft tragedy in Nigerian civilian history. Combined with Bellview six weeks earlier, it triggered the wholesale aviation safety overhaul.

Sosoliso Airlines, founded in 1994, is recorded for the 10 December 2005 crash of Flight 1145 (DC-9-32, Abuja–Port Harcourt), in which 60 of 71 schoolchildren of Loyola Jesuit College Abuja, returning home for Christmas, were killed. The single school cohort loss made Flight 1145 the most socially traumatic aviation disaster in Nigerian history and the proximate trigger of the 2005–2006 Yar'Adua aviation reform.
