Founded in 1980 at Nnewi by Sir Gabriel Ugochukwu Okeke (GUO); one of the oldest continuously-operating indigenous inter-city transport companies in Nigeria. Pioneered the Nnewi school of long-haul road transport (alongside Ekene Dili Chukwu, Chisco and The Young Shall Grow) that built the South-East–Lagos commercial axis.

GUO Transport, founded in the 1980s by Chief Gabriel Uche Okafor (after whom the company is named), is one of the largest Igbo-owned long-distance road-transport companies in Nigeria, operating from the Mile 2 Lagos terminus to most of the South-East and South-South. It is a representative member of the Onitsha-Nnewi diaspora transport industry that emerged from the post-civil-war economic reconstruction.
