Why it is on record
Founded in 1968 by Chief Augustine Ilodibe at Nnewi in the immediate aftermath of the Biafran War; the oldest continuously-operating indigenous inter-city transport company in Nigeria and the founding firm of the Nnewi long-haul transport cluster. At peak (1980s–90s) operated 1,200+ vehicles on the Lagos–Onitsha, Lagos–Aba and Lagos–Calabar corridors; the company's name ("Thank You God") became the prototype for the Igbo Christian-name commercial vehicle brand that GUO, Chisco and The Young Shall Grow later adopted.

Ekene Dili Chukwu Transport (EDC), founded in 1976 by Chief Augustine Ilodibe at Onitsha, was for two decades the largest indigenous long-distance road-haulage and passenger operator in Nigeria. It is the founding institution of the Igbo intercity-coach industry and the operational template that the Chisco, GUO, Young Shall Grow, Peace Mass Transit and Ifesinachi networks subsequently built upon.
