Drugfield is part of the second-generation indigenous Nigerian pharma cohort — companies founded in the post-SAP 1980s, often by pharmacist-entrepreneurs trained at Nigerian universities, deliberately positioned to supply the institutional public-sector market that the multinationals were vacating. Its Sagamu plant produces intravenous fluids, oral antibiotics, antimalarials and analgesics for the Nigerian and ECOWAS markets.
The company is a member of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Group of MAN and a representative case of the Sagamu pharmaceutical cluster that has emerged as the largest concentration of pharma manufacturing in Nigeria.
