British Airways and its predecessors (BOAC, Imperial Airways) have served Lagos continuously since the 1930s. The current Lagos and Abuja services from London-Heathrow are among the most lucrative routes on the BA international network, with the highest premium-cabin yields per passenger of any African destination. The 2021 reduction in Nigerian-leg slots was a major bilateral irritant resolved through BASA renegotiation.
