The record
Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi (b. 27 May 1965) was Governor of Rivers State from 2007 to 2015 and Director-General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation in 2015 and 2019.
As Transportation Minister, he oversaw the Abuja–Kaduna standard-gauge rail (operational July 2016), the Lagos–Ibadan standard-gauge rail (commercial service June 2021), and the Itakpe–Warri standard-gauge rail (commissioned September 2020). The Abuja–Kaduna line was the site of the 28 March 2022 train attack and abduction.
