The record

Anthony Eromosele Enahoro (1923–2010) of Uromi moved the famous motion for Nigerian self-government in the Federal House of Representatives in 1953.

He served as Federal Commissioner for Information and Labour through the civil war years and beyond. He later led the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) against the Abacha regime from exile.
