Ibrahim Agboola Gambari (b. 1944), Professor of Political Science, served as Minister of External Affairs under Major-General Buhari's first government (1984–85). At the United Nations he was Permanent Representative of Nigeria (1990–99), Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser on Africa (1999–2005), and Joint AU–UN Special Representative for Darfur (2009–12). Appointed Chief of Staff to President Buhari in May 2020.
