The record
Nuhu Ribadu (b. 21 November 1960, Adamawa) is the founding Chairman of the EFCC. Under his leadership the Commission prosecuted IGP Tafa Balogun (jailed 2005), Bayelsa Governor Diepreye Alamieyeseigha (impeached 2005), and Plateau Governor Joshua Dariye, among others.
He was demoted to AIG in late 2007 and forced into exile. He returned to public life and was the ACN presidential candidate in 2011.
He has served as National Security Adviser since October 2023 under President Tinubu.
